Soundscape for an Interactive Art Installation

Beesley, Philip, with Rob Gorbet, Mark-David Hosale, Rachel Armstrong, Alain Baril, Philippe Baylaucq, 18th Biennale of Sydney, Australia. June - September 2012

Sybil (2012) is an iteration of Philip Beesley's Hylozoic Series, which was presented as part of the 18th Biennale of Sydney from June 27 - September 16, 2012. The soundscape presented here is an recording excerpt from the work that was developed in collaboration with Philip Beesley as compliment to Sybil. The continuous sound is generated in real-time and responds to the ever changing actions and interactions in the complex of elements that make-up the Sybil sculptural body. The undulating cycles of sounds and events create an emotive substructure to the work that aims to invoke a meditative state of reflection and introspection as viewers experience the work.
